Late afternoon biking in the Old Town of Hanoi, Vietnam
A walk through a heavily trafficked steet in the Old Quarter in Hanoi, Vietnam
Walking across a busy roundabout in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Walking across a busy roundabout in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Part 2
Traffic in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City is chaotic at times, with participants sometimes making unexpected and in the eyes of a western visitor irrational decisions. It is however seldom aggressive or violent.
When you take part in the traffic melee just make clear what your intentions are. When you cross a street, don't hesitate, walk slowly and keep on walking so the other participants know where you are going. Don't stand still or step back. Then you may get hurt by someone who thought to drive behind you.
